Summer of Rum: September 2, 2017 (Tampa, FL)
Spend Labor Day weekend sampling a wide variety of handmade cocktails from some of the top rum brands in the industry at this event at Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa. There will be several reggae bands performing throughout the day, with headliner Shaggy and a fireworks show to cap off the evening. If you want to get your sweat on before the party, you can participate in the "almost 5K" Rum Run that morning along Tampa's waterfront.
Miami Rum Renaissance Festival: TBD 2018 (Miami, FL)
This not-to-be-missed event is the world's largest gathering of rum producers, experts and enthusiasts. The Grand Rum Tasting Exhibition is the main draw, featuring all types of rums from many notable and new brands, including some which are not yet available in the U.S. There are also rum-themed seminars, live performances, and opportunities to mingle with industry experts. The annual RumXP Competition is also part of this event and awards are given to the best rums in each class based on blind taste tests.
The Hukilau: TBD 2018 (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
A celebration of everything tiki, this annual event highlights the role of rum in tiki culture. It features the Rum Shack Tastings where you can sample many different kinds of rums, including some hard-to-find aged varieties, while shopping for unique tiki-themed memorabilia. You can also attend seminars, symposiums, hands-on art classes, and wild costume parties with live entertainment. Be sure to attend the group happy hour and dinner at the nearby legendary Mai Kai restaurant!
Tales of the Cocktail: Jul. 17 - 22, 2018 (New Orleans, LA)
This event caters to professionals in the bar and spirits industry, but there are also opportunities for cocktail enthusiasts to participate. There are seminars, tastings, and special events, as well as the Tales Around Town program where local bars and restaurants offer up their best food and drink to professionals and enthusiasts alike.
Rum Renaissance Eastern Caribbean Cruise: Nov. 19 - 30, 2018 (departing from Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
This 11-night, rum-themed voyage aboard Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas cruise ship departs from Ft. Lauderdale, FL and visits Ponce, Puerto Rico, Basseterre, St. Kitts, Castries, St. Lucia, St. George's, Grenada, Bridgetown, Barbados, and St. Johns, Antigua. A small group of rum enthusiasts will enjoy VIP distillery tours, rum tastings, and shopping for unique and rare rums. We had an incredible experience on this cruise in 2016 and we are excited to join the adventure again in 2018!
