Tales of the Cocktail: Jul 17 - 22, 2018 (New Orleans, LA)
This event caters to professionals in the bar and spirits industry, but there are also opportunities for cocktail enthusiasts to participate. There are seminars, tastings, and special events, as well as Spirited Dinners where local restaurants partner with spirits brands to offer up their best food and drink to professionals and enthusiasts alike.
National Rum Day Fest: Aug 16, 2018 (Miami, FL)
Rum sponsors and rum fans will gather at the Confidante Hotel in Miami Beach for the second annual celebration of National Rum Day. Guests can sample a variety of rums and cocktails poolside while enjoying some live music and fun games.
Summer of Rum Festival: Sep 1 - 2, 2018 (Tampa, FL)
Expanded to two days this year, the Summer of Rum Festival is held during Labor Day weekend in downtown Tampa at Curtis Hixon Park. The event features cocktails from over a dozen rum companies, as well as a VIP tasting area where serious rum enthusiasts can taste a variety of expressions from additional brands. Each rum-filled day commences with a national headlining band performance. This year, alternative rock/pop band Sugar Ray will perform on Saturday night! The Sunday headliner is yet to be announced.
Rum Renaissance Eastern Caribbean Cruise: Nov 19 - 30, 2018 (departing from Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
This 11-night, rum-themed voyage aboard Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas cruise ship departs from Ft. Lauderdale, FL and visits Ponce, Puerto Rico, Basseterre, St. Kitts, Castries, St. Lucia, St. George's, Grenada, Bridgetown, Barbados, and St. Johns, Antigua. A small group of rum enthusiasts will enjoy VIP distillery tours, rum tastings, and shopping for unique and rare rums. We had an incredible experience on this cruise in 2016 and we are excited to join the adventure again in 2018!
The Hukilau: Jun 5 - 9, 2019 (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
A celebration of everything tiki, this annual event highlights the role of rum in tiki culture. It features the Rum Shack Tastings where you can sample many different kinds of rums, including some hard-to-find aged varieties, while shopping for unique tiki-themed memorabilia. You can also attend seminars, symposiums, hands-on art classes, and wild costume parties with live entertainment. Be sure to attend the event's happy hour and dinner show at the legendary Mai Kai restaurant!
Rum Renaissance Festival: TBD 2019 (Florida)
Formerly known as the Miami Rum Renaissance Festival, this not-to-be-missed event is the world's largest gathering of rum producers, experts and enthusiasts. The Grand Rum Tasting Exhibition is the main draw, featuring all types of rums from many notable and new brands, some which are not yet available in the U.S. There are also rum-themed seminars, live performances, a VIP tasting bar, and opportunities to mingle with industry experts. The annual RumXP Competition is part of this event and awards are given to the best rums in each class based on blind taste tests.
